Raid on Harper's Ferry

On October 16, 1859, abolitionist John Brown led a group of about 20 men in a raid on Harper's Ferry, Va.

One of these men was Brigadier-General Sir Harry Paget Flashman V.C. K.C.B. K.C.I.E sent by Wiliam H. Seward, and the Kuklos to ensure that Brown does not survive the Raid...His adventure is detailed in his Flashman and the Angel of the Lord edited by George MacDonald Fraser.
